Org details
PersonalGenomes.org is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation dedicated to making it easier for people to understand personal genomics research and its potential. We seek to make personal genomics more useful for humankind through the support of technology and practices that are effective, informative and responsible.
PersonalGenomes.org supports the Personal Genome Project (PGP), which is currently the world's only IRB-approved public genomics research study with permission to provide public access to tissues and comprehensive genetic and trait data from 100,000 individuals. Operated by researchers at Harvard Medical School, the PGP's primary goal is to build a framework for prototyping and evaluating public genomics technology and practices at increasing scales, and disseminate the results for the benefit of the general public.
